Kronberg – He doesn’t know it, but the Hanoverian stallion Destacado FRH did everything right in terms of “marketing” on Saturday. The seven-year-old chestnut, who has two foals in the Taunus Talent Auction, won the opening round of the final qualification of the NÜRNBERGER BURG-POKAL with Matthias Alexander Rath. With 75.61 percent, the son of Desperados took first place. For the first time, the Schafhof Dressage Festival is hosting a qualification for the important dressage series and 22 pairs won the St. Georg Special. The twelve best in this competition will compete for a ticket to the final on Sunday at the Schafhof (live at www.clipmyhorse.tv).

Destacado FRH was bred by Heinrich Gießelmann in Barver, the father of squad rider Jan-Dirk Gießelmann, and is what you might call a model student. Vice World Champion of young dressage horses and also interesting from a breeding perspective: With Destination (Lot 5) and Daydream (Lot 10), the Schafhof stallion has a son and a daughter in the Taunus Talent Auction lot. Behind the host Rath was a club colleague: Dorothee Schneider with the Rhenish-bred stallion Villeneuve by Vitalis, who completed the test with 73.24 percent. Third-placed Isabel Freese will also have enjoyed looking at the chic chestnut, as the Norwegian once won the final of the NÜRNBERGER BURG-POKAL in Frankfurt with his sire Vitals. Freese herself piloted the Totilas son Top Gear to third place with 72.87 percent.

Tickets for the Federal Championships secured

This was certainly achieved by the five-year-old Oldenburg stallion Vom Feinsten OLD, who was ridden by Frederic Wandres from Hagen a.T.W. traveled to Kronberg especially for the occasion and was able to return home with a gold ribbon in the dressage horse test class L (8.5). In the six-year-old dressage horses, Dante's Hit OLD, with Dorothee Schneider in the saddle, won the ticket for Warendorf's Federal Championships with ease in the dressage horse test class M (8.8).

Taunus Talent Auction - "virtual" foal purchase

The initiators of the Schafhof's first online foal auction are looking to the www, the worldwide web, with anticipation, because the twelve auction foals - all offspring of Schafhof stallions from very good dam lines - are generating interest at home and abroad. Each foal is presented in detail on the website www.taunustalentauction.com and can be admired with pedigree, photos and video. The online auction will run until Monday evening at 8 p.m.
