For Happiness N - most expensive Taunus talent
Kronberg - The first Taunus Talent Auction of the Schafhof stud farm ended with the top price of 21,250 euros for a filly by Foundation out of a Sir Donnerhall mother. The online auction was stud farm manager Matthias Alexander Rath's response to the restrictions imposed by the corona pandemic - the stud farm's foal show, which is otherwise also a marketplace for breeders and buyers, could not be offered due to the corona pandemic. The online auction has now proven to be a very successful "replacement" in a difficult year for horse breeding and sport.
For Happiness N by Foundation out of Senorina Wellina by Sir Donnerhall, born on April 15, is bred by Kirsten Niermann and is an extremely agile and elegant young lady. The lineage speaks for proven sportiness anyway. Father Foundation is successful in the Grand Prix arena and, like his world-famous father Fidertanz, is a stallion who confidently passes on his movement quality, and his mother impresses with the very best attributes and successful offspring. She goes back to Sandro Hit via Sir Donnerhall and to Wolkenstein II in the maternal line. Buyers from Switzerland fell in love with the beautiful brown filly, whose name For Happiness N is clearly a fitting description, and had the "longest breath" when bidding.
At 15,000 euros, Touching Gold by Thiago GS-FRH Rassolini was the second most expensive foal at the Taunus Talent Auction. Genetically bred entirely for dressage, the foal born in March by breeder Rico Sahlke promises great class: the colt can already gallop like a big boy. Touching Gold will delight his owners from Brazil in the future.
The lot included twelve foals, all from Schafhof stallions. Six foals were auctioned for five-figure sums, with total sales amounting to 125,750 euros. Five of the Taunus Talent foals were sold to Switzerland, Brazil, the Netherlands, France and Thailand, and seven foals were purchased by interested parties from Germany.
Repetition planned
The Taunus Talent Auction is not intended to remain a one-off project. In the future there will also be online auctions for foals, possibly also for two-year-old horses. "We are really very satisfied with the result of the first edition of the Taunus Talent Auction and are of course particularly pleased about the great international interest," summarizes Matthias Alexander Rath. "Each of the foals has promising potential and we are very excited to see when and where we will meet these Taunus talents again. We would like to thank the breeders for their trust and wish the successful bidders all the best. For those who did not win the bid for their dream foal, we promise that this was not our last auction!”
